Verse 1
The Israelites had God's command; they travelled to the Promised land. And in that land the judges led by telling Israel what God said.
Verse 2
"We want a king!" the people said, and God told them of things ahead. King Saul and David, one by one, were crowned before King Solomon.
Verse 3
Ten tribes of Israel broke away; they worshipped idols every day. Their kings were evil in God's sight, and none of them did what was right.
Verse 4
The tribe of Judah followed men; they worshipped idols once again. Some kings were faithful in God's sight, and eight of them did what was right.
Chorus
And God said, "Follow in my ways, then I will bless you with good days. But if you worship idols too, your enemies will conquer you."
